General Description:
This position is responsible for the care and cleaning of the county offices. Sweeps, mops and vacuums floors. Dusts furniture and cleans wall railings. Empties waste baskets and trash receptacles. Washes inside and outside of accessible windows. Picks up liter from courthouse grounds and keeps parking areas free from trash. Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and refills restroom product dispensers. Attends to accidental spills and messes. Assists with setup of facilities for meetings and events. Performs other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to learn and follow instructions for use of chemicals and supplies
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals in a safe manner and as directed
- Knowledge in use and operation of cleaning equipment, tools and supplies
- Ability to use manual and powered cleaning equipment in a safe manner and as directed
- Knowledge of proper care and cleaning of a variety of floor surfaces
- Ability to move furniture, tools and supplies on an incidental basis
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and directions
- Ability to positively interact with other county employees and the public
- Ability to drive county vehicles to other county offices and facilities
- Ability to report to work on time and as scheduled
Additional Information:
- Work performed indoors and outdoors at the main courthouse complex and other county facilities
- Travel within the county to various county offices
- Evening or weekend work hours may be required
- Requires valid Texas Driver License
- Requires exposure to strong scents and smells
- Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, climb, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl and reach
- Requires ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of custodial or related experience preferred
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $12.94 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
